Water Leak Detector Power Adaptor Board Installation

The Power Adaptor Board allows BAPI’s Water Leak Detectors to be powered by AC voltage as well as DC voltage. Note: The board is only needed when using AC voltage.

Installation of the Power Adaptor Board
1. Remove power from the unit. The green Power LED visible through the cover will turn OFF.
2. Open the BAPI-Box enclosure and remove the power wires from the “V+” and “GND” terminals. (Fig 2)
3. From the Power Adaptor Board, terminate the black wire to “GND” and the red wire to “V+” on the Water Leak Detector terminals.
4. Terminate the external AC power wires to the 2-position Terminal Plug included with the Adaptor Board. The termination is not polarity sensitive.
5. Slide the Adaptor Board into the slots of the BAPI-Box. (Fig 3)
6. Apply 24 VAC power. Verify the green power LED is ON.
7. Close the BAPI-Box cover. Installation is complete.
8. Perform functionality test on the Water Leak Detector by dampening a cloth or sponge and touching the prongs of the Attached Sensor or the screw of the Remote Sensor. If using a Rope Sensor, then wrap the cloth or sponge around the rope. An alarm should occur within 5 seconds. The red LED will illuminate and the alarm contacts will change state. Remove the dampened cloth or sponge to clear the alarm. If the Alarm Reset Switch on the main circuit board is set to “Manual”, then you must push the “Reset” button on the main board to clear the alarm. You can also interrupt power momentarily to reset the alarm.
